We Are Blessed With Abraham!

As believers in Jesus Christ the blessings of Abraham belong to us.

Galatians 3:6-7 GOD’S WORD Translation (GW) 6 Abraham serves as an example. He believed God, and that faith was regarded as the basis of Abraham’s approval by God. 7 You must understand that people who have faith are Abraham’s descendants.

Galatians 3:8-9 GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

8 Scripture saw ahead of time that God would give his approval to non-Jewish people who have faith. So Scripture announced the Good News to Abraham ahead of time when it said, “Through you all the people of the world will be blessed.” 9 So people who believe are blessed together with Abraham, the man of faith.

So lets slow it down. You do not have to be Jewish to obtain God's approval or to be justified by God. All you need to do is have faith in God! When you have faith God promises to bless you along with the blessing of Abraham.

You're clear - The Blessing of Abraham belongs to everyone who believes in Jesus Christ.

Gal 3:13-14 (KJV) says,

13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having

become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who

hangs on a tree"), 14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in

Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit

through faith.

Say this aloud - Jesus Christ paid the price so that the blessing of Abraham would come on me! That's why Jesus is the author of your faith.

Salvation is a gift of God. We don't have to work for it.

Ephesians 2:8 (NIV) says,

8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—

God gave us Jesus Christ! Jesus Christ paid the price for us to receive the blessings of Abraham. It's not about works. It's not about keeping the Law of Moses, it's about believing God and believing in Jesus Christ His son.

Under the New Testament righteousness is bestowed upon an individual as a "gift" in response to faith in Christ!

Now that you know what Jesus did for you, lets look at the blessing of Abraham.

Genesis 12:2-3 (KJV)

And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you, And make your name great; And so you shall be a blessing; And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed."

Genesis 22:16-18 (KJV)

16 And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:

17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;

18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

So now that you know what the blessing of Abraham is, here's a prayer for you:

Let every blessing of Abraham begin to manifest in my life and my children's lives the blessing which includes longevity, wealth, fruitfulness, wisdom and the favor of God in the name of Jesus Christ.
