Maybe You Just Need to Ask!

Do you have a need? Take a moment to think about it because the chances are you do. In fact, most of us at any moment in time have something that we need. I'm not talking about desire right now, although there's absolutely nothing wrong with having desires. But right now I am specifically dealing with those things that you have need of; I want you to think about them.

The needs might be physical, financial, emotional, spiritual, relational...it doesn't matter. I want you to get your needs in your mind because I want to share some good news with you in this post, which are these 3 things: 1) God knows about your needs. 2) God cares about your needs and 3) God has a plan to meet your needs.

But here's another question for you. Have you asked God to meet your needs? Yes, No, you can't remember? It's okay let me slow down and walk you through a simple process of how to get your needs met.

As already stated, the Father God knows what we needs! Matthew 6:31-33 (NIV) says,

31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Here it is in the Amplified. Matthew 6:31-33 (AMP) 31 Therefore do not worry or be anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted), saying, ‘What are we going to eat?’ or ‘What are we going to drink?’ or ‘What are we going to wear?’ 32 For the [pagan] Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; [but do not worry,] for your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also

Please understand God knows about the need and God doesn't want you to be anxious or worried about your needs. Philippians 4:6 (NIV) says, Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

God doesn't want you worried because God already has a plan to meet your needs lets look at Philippians 4:19 (EXB) says [L?And] My God will ·meet [supply; fulfill] all of your needs ·from [L?according to] his ·wonderful riches [glorious riches; or riches in heaven/glory] in Christ Jesus.

You should be feeling a little better at this point. Now that you know God has a plan to meet your needs the next thing you may need to do is ASK him to do it.

Yep, maybe your needs haven't been met yet simply because you haven't asked God! James 4:2 says, You want things, but you don’t get them. So you kill and are jealous of others. But you still cannot get what you want. So you argue and fight. You don’t get what you want because you don’t ask God.

Matthew 7:7-11 (NIV) says, Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. 9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

Did you get that? The word says ASK and it will be given to you! We are God's children. God is our Heavenly Father. He not only wants to meet our needs but He also wants to bless us with good gifts, you know some of those things you are desiring!

Well you might be saying, already asked and it didn't manifest yet and let me say, ask God again!

Look at, what Matthew 7:7-11 (AMP) says, “[a]Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you;

Matthew 7:7-11 (ERV) “Continue to ask, and God will give to you.

Once again - The amplified says ASK and KEEP on asking! The ERV says Continue to ask!

I stress that because maybe you just need to be more persistent in your prayers. Don't debate. Let's just take the word as the word and apply it in our lives.

Romans 8:32 (ERV) says, He even let his own Son suffer for us. God gave his Son for all of us. So now with Jesus, God will surely give us all things.

Don't miss that - God will surely give us all things! The word didn't say God might give us all things. It says surely. If you are having difficulty with that, it simply means you've got to spend more time meditating the scriptures to build up your faith. Believing is how you receive from God.

The word of God says, God will supply all of our needs. Many are going without. Your needs are not being met because you are not going to God with faith in prayer and asking God to meet those needs.

I really pray that you receive this word of God today. You may need to get rid of wrong teaching; or get rid of wrong thinking. That's why the Bible tells us to renew our minds (Romans 12:1-2). Some people think it's wrong to ask God for what they need. Whatever the root problem is that stops you from asking God, I encourage you to let the word of God speak to your heart on today. Don't debate the scriptures. Allow the word of God to be the final authority in your life. Just take the scriptures as they are and apply them to your life.

So, let me go take the rest of the post to share a couple scriptures on what the Bible teaches on the importance of asking God:

Matthew 21:22 says (NIV)

22 If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

John 14:13-14 New International Version (NIV)

13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

Remember Jesus is our mediator. Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly. John 10:10 (AMP) says, 10 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].

How are you going to enjoy life without having your needs met? You might live life, but it probably won't be enjoyable with unmet needs.

Well I believe you get the point, start asking God to meet your needs in prayer and watch manifestation begin to become a reality in your life.

God bless you.
