Jesus Christ Our Passover Lamb

The Purpose, Power and Promise of Passover

Beloved, Passover 2020 will be observed from April 8 th, and continue through April 16, 2020. This blog is a compilation of the daily scripture readings that I will be sharing during this period to help you observe and participate in Passover Season. I also encourage you to do some fasting and take communion throughout Passover. Passover is a time to focus on and reflect on Jesus Christ Our Passover Lamb and the Blood Covenant.

Passover Day 1

Exodus 12:1-14 GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

1 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt, 2 “This month will be the very first month of the year for you. 3 Tell the whole community of Israel: On the tenth day of this month each man must take a lamb or a young goat for his family—one animal per household. 4 A household may be too small to eat a whole animal. That household and the one next door can share one animal. Choose your animal based on the number of people and what each person can eat. 5 Your animal must be a one-year-old male that has no defects. You may choose a lamb or a young goat. 6 Take care of it until the fourteenth day of this month. “Then at dusk, all the assembled people from the community of Israel must slaughter their animals. 7 They must take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they will eat the animals. 8 The meat must be eaten that same night. It must be roasted over a fire and eaten with bitter herbs and unleavened bread. 9 Don’t eat any of it raw or boiled but roast the whole animal over a fire. 10 Don’t leave any of it until morning. Anything left over in the morning must be burned up. 11 This is how you should be dressed when you eat it: with your belt on, your sandals on your feet, and your shepherd’s staff in your hand. You must eat it in a hurry. It is the Lord’s Passover.

12 “On that same night I will go throughout Egypt and kill every firstborn male, both human and animal. I will severely punish all the gods of Egypt, because I am the Lord. 13 But the blood on your houses will be a sign for your protection. When I see the blood, I will pass over you. Nothing will touch or destroy you when I strike Egypt.

14 “This day will be one for you to remember. This is a permanent law for generations to come: You will celebrate this day as a pilgrimage festival in the Lord’s honor.

Passover Day 2

Beloved as we continue to observe Passover, here's today's reading:

1 Corinthians 5:6-8 The Passion Translation (TPT)

6 Boasting over your tolerance of sin is inappropriate. Don’t you understand that even a small compromise with sin permeates the entire fellowship, just as a little leaven permeates a batch of dough? 7 So remove every trace of your “leaven” of compromise with sin so that you might become new and pure again. For indeed, you are clean[a] because Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us.[b] 8 So now we can celebrate our continual feast, not with the old “leaven,” the yeast of wickedness or bitterness, but we will feast on the freshly baked bread of innocence and holiness.[c]

Passover Day 3

Beloved as we continue to observe Passover, I encourage you to read Exodus Chapter 23 . Focus on verses 21- 30 and believe God for the 7 blessings for your life!

Exodus 23:20-31 (NLT) - A Promise of the Lord’s Presence

20 “See, I am sending an angel before you to protect you on your journey and lead you safely to the place I have prepared for you. 21 Pay close attention to him, and obey his instructions. Do not rebel against him, for he is my representative, and he will not forgive your rebellion. 22 But if you are careful to obey him, following all my instructions, then I will be an enemy to your enemies, and I will oppose those who oppose you. 23 For my angel will go before you and bring you into the land of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites, and Jebusites, so you may live there. And I will destroy them completely. 24 You must not worship the gods of these nations or serve them in any way or imitate their evil practices. Instead, you must utterly destroy them and smash their sacred pillars. 25 “You must serve only the Lord your God. If you do, I[a] will bless you with food and water, and I will protect you from illness. 26 There will be no miscarriages or infertility in your land, and I will give you long, full lives. 27 “I will send my terror ahead of you and create panic among all the people whose lands you invade. I will make all your enemies turn and run. 28 I will send terror[b] ahead of you to drive out the Hivites, Canaanites, and Hittites. 29 But I will not drive them out in a single year, because the land would become desolate and the wild animals would multiply and threaten you. 30 I will drive them out a little at a time until your population has increased enough to take possession of the land. 31 And I will fix your boundaries from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean Sea,[c] and from the eastern wilderness to the Euphrates River.[d] I will hand over to you the people now living in the land, and you will drive them out ahead of you.

Passover Day 4

Today focus on Jesus Christ Our Passover Lamb. This is a special divine appointed time to remember what His death, burial and resurrection accomplished for us who believe in this life and eternally.

John 3:16 Amplified Bible (AMP)

16 “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] [a]only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.

1 Peter 2:24 GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

24 Christ carried our sins in his body on the cross so that freed from our sins, we could live a life that has God’s approval. His wounds have healed you.

Hebrews 9:11-12 New Living Translation (NLT) -

Christ Is the Perfect Sacrifice

11 So Christ has now become the High Priest over all the good things that have come.[a] He has entered that greater, more perfect Tabernacle in heaven, which was not made by human hands and is not part of this created world. 12 With his own blood—not the blood of goats and calves—he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever.

Passover Day 5

Beloved we focus on Our Risen Savior. Because of His resurrection we too will be raised!

Matthew 28:5-6 The Passion Translation (TPT)

5 The women were breathless and terrified, until the angel said to them, “There’s no reason to be afraid. I know you’re here looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He isn’t here—he has risen victoriously,[a] just as he said! Come inside the tomb and see the place where our Lord was lying.[b]

1 Corinthians 15:1-6 New Living Translation (NLT)

The Resurrection of Christ

15 Let me now remind you, dear brothers and sisters,[a] of the Good News I preached to you before. You welcomed it then, and you still stand firm in it. 2 It is this Good News that saves you if you continue to believe the message I told you—unless, of course, you believed something that was never true in the first place.[b] 3 I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. 4 He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said. 5 He was seen by Peter[c] and then by the Twelve. 6 After that, he was seen by more than 500 of his followers[d] at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have died.

1 Corinthians 15:20-23 New Living Translation (NLT)

20 But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a great harvest of all who have died. 21 So you see, just as death came into the world through a man, now the resurrection from the dead has begun through another man. 22 Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life. 23 But there is an order to this resurrection: Christ was raised as the first of the harvest; then all who belong to Christ will be raised when he comes back.

Passover Day 6

Beloved as we continue to observe Passover let's take a moment today to remember that Jesus Christ is our Redeemer and we are the redeemed of the Lord! He paid the price for our sins and purchased us back from the enemy of our souls! His death put us back into the right relationship with God!

REDEE'M, verb transitive [Latin redimo; red, re, and emo, to obtain or purchase.] 1. To purchase back; to ransom; to liberate or rescue from captivity or bondage, or from any obligation or liability to suffer or to be forfeited, by paying an equivalent; as, to redeem prisoners or captured goods; to redeem a pledge.

In theology, to rescue and deliver from the bondage of sin and the penalties of God's violated law, by obedience and suffering in the place of the sinner, or by doing and suffering that which is accepted in lieu of the sinner's obedience.

Galatians 3:13

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree:

Titus 2:14

Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Psalm 107:2 (KJV)

2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

Passover Day 7

Beloved as we continue to observe Passover let's take a moment today to remember that Jesus Christ is the High Priest or King Priest over our profession of faith! He deserves all honor, glory and praise. There would be no Christianity without Jesus Christ! I encourage you to read each translation of the Scriptures below to get a clear picture!

Hebrews 3:1-3 New Living Translation (NLT) - Also read KJY, TPT

3 And so, dear brothers and sisters who belong to God and[a] are partners with those called to heaven, think carefully about this Jesus whom we declare to be God’s messenger[b] and High Priest. 2 For he was faithful to God, who appointed him, just as Moses served faithfully when he was entrusted with God’s entire[c] house.

3 But Jesus deserves far more glory than Moses, just as a person who builds a house deserves more praise than the house itself.

Passover Day 8

Today we reflect on Jesus Christ Our King!

Revelation 19:11-16 The Passion Translation (TPT)

The Bridegroom-King on the White Horse

11 Then I saw heaven opened, and suddenly a white horse appeared. The name of the one riding it was Faithful and True,[a] and with pure righteousness he judges and rides to battle. 12 He wore many regal crowns,[b] and his eyes were flashing like flames of fire. He had a secret name inscribed on him that’s known only to himself.[c] 13 He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his title is called the Word of God. 14 Following him on white horses were the armies of heaven, wearing white fine linen, pure and bright. 15 A sharp sword came from his mouth with which to conquer[d] the nations, and he will shepherd them with an iron scepter.[e] He will trample out the wine in the winepress of the wrath[f] of God. 16 On his robe and on his thigh he had inscribed a name: King of kings and Lord of lords.

Passover Day 9

Beloved today is the final day of Passover. Today and everyday I want to remind you that Jesus Christ is the only way and the door to the Father.

John 14:6 The Passion Translation (TPT)

6 Jesus explained, “I am the Way, I am the Truth,[a] and I am the Life. No one comes next to the Father[b] except through union with me.[c] To know me is to know my Father too.

John 10:9 Amplified Bible (AMP)

9 I am the Door; anyone who enters through Me will be saved [and will live forever], and will go in and out [freely], and find pasture (spiritual security).

Well I am confident that your faith has increased in our Passover Lamb!

Blessings
