God is Calling You To Consecration!
Hello beloved. As we have been in the month of April I have been seeking the Lord in prayer for what He would have me release prophetically to the Body of Christ. As you know during the earlier part of this month we observed Passover and really focused on Jesus Christ as Our Passover Lamb. We set our thoughts and meditation to the work of His death, burial and resurrection and what it accomplished for those who believe. It was from that place that the Holy Spirit began to minister to me that now He is drawing His people back into a time of consecration and sanctification in the days ahead. So in this post I’m going to speak regarding consecration and sanctification and some key things that need to occur.
Let’s start with a couple of definitions:
CONSECRATION, noun
1. The act or ceremony of separating from a common to a sacred use, or of devoting and dedicating a person or thing to the service and worship of God, by certain rites or solemnities. consecration does not make a person or thing really holy, but declares it to be sacred, that is, devoted to God or to divine service;
As a Christian we are to live our lives devoted to God! When we receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior we become disciples and followers of Christ.
1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
SANCTIFICA'TION, noun [See Sanctify.]
1. The act of making holy. In an evangelical sense, the act of God's grace by which the affections of men are purified or alienated from sin and the world, and exalted to a supreme love to God.
God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation, through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth. 2 Thessalonians 2:13. 1 Peter 1:2.
2. The act of consecrating or of setting apart for a sacred purpose; consecration.
Understand that Sanctification is a work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of Christians!
2 Thessalonians 2:13 KJV
But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
1 Peter 1:2 NIV
Who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance.
We are also sanctified as we bring our lives in line with the word of God.
John 17:17 NIV
17 Sanctify them by[a] the truth; your word is truth.
So let me reiterate that prophetically God is calling His people back to consecration and sanctification! Here are 4 words that the Holy Spirit gave me to share that will help you in this area!
1 )Repentance - Real penitence; sorrow or deep contrition for sin, as an offense and dishonor to God, a violation of his holy law, and the basest ingratitude towards a Being of infinite benevolence. This is called evangelical repentance and is accompanied and followed by amendment of life. Repentance is a change of mind, or a conversion from sin to God.
2) Rededication - “Rededicating your life to Christ” is a popular concept in modern Christian culture. Still, rededication is a useful tool. It’s a way to deliberately reject sin and renew a love for Christ. The disciples went through a rededication of sorts when they saw the risen Jesus.
3) Refocus - REFOCUS (verb) The verb REFOCUS has 3 senses: 1. focus once again. 2. focus anew. 3. put again into focus or focus more sharply ! So now is the time to refocus on Jesus Christ and the things of God. Focus on what God has specifically called you to.
4) Reconnect - re-establish a bond of communication or emotion.
Well beloved I trust that as you make a decision to do these things, the Holy Spirit will reveal to you specifically what He wants from you personally.
