DO YOU WANT TO KNOW A SECRET?

Daniel 2:22 Good News Translation (GNT)

22 He reveals things that are deep and secret;

he knows what is hidden in darkness,

and he himself is surrounded by light.

That's an intriguing verse don't you think? God, the Omniscient One, knows everything. He knows things revealed and hidden. He knows the end from the beginning. That means that He knows everything that could and will ever happen to you in this life.

That's right. God knows specifics about everything concerning you. He knows what your purpose is. He knows what you should be doing with your life. He knows where you need to work or what business you should start. He knows who you will marry and much much more. Now guess what! He's willing to let you in on those things. Do I have your attention now? Friend, it is God's desire to reveal the hidden and secrets things to you but it will require something from you. It will require you taking the time to seek after Him.

When you seek God, you search for him with your whole in heart during intimate times of prayer and study. Let's look at a few scriptures right now.

Psalm 105:3-4 Amplified Bible (AMP) says, Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those who seek and require the Lord [as their most essential need] rejoice. 4 Seek and deeply long for the Lord and His strength [His power, His might]; Seek and deeply long for His face and His presence continually.

God want's you to pursue His presence. He wants you to seek after Him with your whole heart! That means with urgent, sincere desire to know Him more.

Deuteronomy 4:29 (NIV) says, But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul; and, Jeremiah 29:13 (KJV).

13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Reasons to seek God is because you need to hear from Him. You need to know His will for your life in different situations. Like you might be unclear about what God wants you to do with your life. What are you called to do? What is your personal purpose?. God created you. God gifted and graced you for a work in the earth. If you are not clear on that, it's time for you to seek God's guidance and direction. Or perhaps you already know what God wants you to do, but you don't know where He wants you to do it. You might feel like you are called to a specific city, state or country but just haven't got the confirmation you desire, if that's the case you need to inquire of the Lord. You need to hear from God. You need to get serious and focused about setting aside one on one time to pursue God's presence for the counsel that you require.

Let's look at some more scriptures, Jeremiah 29:13 (AMP) says, 13 Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

To seek God, His name, or His face, in scripture is to ask for his favor, direction and assistance.

You may be in time or place right now that you need God's favor to manifest in your life. You might be believing God for a promotion, or you are a student and have applied to get into a specific college or university. Maybe it's an internship that you are up for but there are others who desire the same limited positions; pray and ask God if it's His will for you and if He says yes, then believe God for favor to bring it to pass in your life.

One thing is for sure and that is there's a blessing for those who will let God know that they need Him in their lives everyday! God is a God of relationship. He desires our love, our worship, our reliance on Him. He desires for you, yes you, to look to Him for help, for assistance, for strength, for guidance, for protection, for provision!

Isaiah 55:6 (NIV) says, 6 Seek the Lord while he may be found;

call on him while he is near.

So you see it is your responsibility to seek after God. You must go after His presence. You may be wondering how do you begin. Set aside a personal prayer time between you and the Lord. It's good to have prayer partners and I'm not suggesting that you give that up. I am saying that in addition to having prayer with others, there needs to be times when you get alone with God. Yes, one on one with God. It's in those times you give God your complete attention. You are to be 100 % transparent with God. You don't have to worry about what another person is thinking about you. You can pour out your deepest thoughts, fears, desires whatever to the Lord and God in turn can speak whatever He desires to speak to YOU. You are important to God and He desires to speak directly to you!

Let's look at Psalm 5:3 (AMP) which says, In the morning, O Lord, You will hear my voice;

In the morning I will prepare [a prayer and a sacrifice] for You and watch and wait [for You to speak to my heart].

When you set aside time to pray and seek God expect God to speak back to you. Again this is about having a relationship with God.

Matthew 6:6 (EXB) says, 6 When you pray, you should go into your [private; inner] room and close the door and pray to your Father ·who cannot be seen [or who is in that secret place; or secretly; in private]. Your Father can see what is done in ·secret [private], and he will reward you.

So there it is. God wants some secret time alone with you. He doesn't share His secrets with just anybody. You've got to be intimate, closely acquainted with God. You build intimate relationship through spending time. Reading the word, worshiping, praying and fellow-shipping with God.

Psalm 25:14 (EXB) says, The Lord ·tells his secrets to [confides in; or makes friends with] those who ·respect [fear] him; he ·tells them about [makes known to them] his ·agreement [covenant].

The secret counsel of the Lord will be made known to His friends! Friends are those who take time to cultivate and develop their personal relationship with God! Come on now, how did you become close to the special people who are your lives? Was it by spending quality time together? Yea I bet it was. Because we build relationship through connection and through investing time. Through sharing your lives, what's going on with your lives with each other. That's called intimacy.

This is good place to see Job 29:2-5 (NIV)

2 “How I long for the months gone by,

for the days when God watched over me,

3 when his lamp shone on my head

and by his light I walked through darkness!

4 Oh, for the days when I was in my prime,

when God’s intimate friendship blessed my house,

5 when the Almighty was still with me

and my children were around me,

Did you get that? Job had an intimate friendship with God! Intimate means closely acquainted; familiar, close: "intimate friends" or personal, private, confidential, secret, innermost.

If Job had that kind of relationship with God so can you. In fact it is the type of relationship with God that will be required if you want to learn those deep, hidden, secret things He knows about you and your life. So, I encourage you to go after God's presence in new way!

Psalm 16:11 says (GNT) says,

11 You will show me the path that leads to life;

your presence fills me with joy

and brings me pleasure forever.

So, as I bring this post to a close my friend, I hope that you are stirred to go after the presence of God with all your heart. You can only benefit from the pursuit of His presence. Remember, God is all knowing. He has many secrets that He is willing to reveal to those who take the time to seek and search for Him.

Until next time I'll leave you with this.

Daniel 2:28 Amplified Bible (AMP)

28 but there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets,
